Fields, paths, and charming stone walls make Kornati National Park a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. There are no residents on the Kornati islands, making it a wild destination for exploring. There's a lot of day trips going from the city of Zadar to Kornati. Located on the Adriatic coast, the city’s looking out to the mouth of the river Krka before it goes into the sea. The old town is a web of small streets and narrow alleyways with Gothic and Renaissance buildings, many dating from the time Šibenik was under Venitian rule. It also counts no less than 4 fortresses, the main one being St. Nicholas’ fortress.
