Sightseeing

It's a bit of a drive but it's worth it for the beautiful scenery. There is a beautiful walk around the edge of the reservoir, a nice man-made beach to swim from, and a café.

A village on the hill, just on the other side of the bridge, going towards Rochegude. Nothing really happens there but it's nice to walk around and the view over the valley is stunning at sunset.

The Chauvet Cave is one of the most famous prehistoric rock art sites in the world. With one exception, all of the cave art paintings have been dated between 30,000 & 33,000 years ago. This museum is a perfect replica of the cave, and well-worth a visit. It's probably a good idea to book in advance.

Villages don't come much prettier than Banne, and this smart Auberge is a lovely place to eat. It's more expensive than most local restaurants but the food is great. Also a nice place to stop for a coffee or beer as their terrace is very pretty, and the views are stunning.
