Muscoot Farm is an actual working farm run by the county of Westchester. It has lots of animals, great programming and a great farmer's market on Sunday's between Mother's Day and late Fall. (get there early!). There are also miles of hiking trails. Our kids LOVE it.

Nice views and a working farm and educational center. I know they continue to run a farm stand and are hosting outdoor movie nights this summer, but seems to have reduced programming due to COVID.

Teatown is a lovely nature preserve that's close by with lots of nature on display. It's also got a great education center.

If you'd like a little more serious dining after visiting Muscoot Farm, the Muscoot Tavern is a great choice. Standard Tavern fare, but pretty high quality.

A bit of a walk or a quick drive from the Big Red Barn of the HV, Seven Scoops is our favorite local ice cream shop. They always have a nice mix of flavors, friendly service, and their ice cream sandwiches are amazing.

You wouldn't think much of it to look at, but Bangkok Spice has Thai food that has people traveling from other States just to enjoy their offerings. Food and Service are 6/5 stars; decor is nothing special, but we don't go for the decor.

You will not find a better steakhouse within 50 miles. Its food will seriously rival any steakhouse in NYC. Expensive for the area, but the food is absolutely worth it, as is the service.

Consistently one of the best restaurants in the area. GREAT asian cuisine - we love pretty much everything they have on the menu.

Sightseeing

A beautiful State park that is only a few minutes' drive. Beautiful scenery, several playgrounds for kids that are really quite impressive, lots of places to barbecue, hiking trails, and even a lake that rents paddleboats (not sure about COVID-19 restrictions).

What to say? The amazingly rich history going all the way back to the Revolutionary War, the stunning views, and even the free concerts from one of the premiere military bands in the country - so worth the trip. Make sure you have ID for all visitors, and check to see if COVID-19 has restricted access.

This park is a real gem. It's got a fantastic playground for children (recently rebuilt and updated), an excellent sledding hill in the winter, a large pond with giant snapping turtles, and easy hiking trails. Also a great dog park, if you have dogs.

This is a lovely hike through an historic granite quarry. There's lots to see - huge piles of granite slabs, mining equipment, flooded quarry pools and a nice nature walk. Connects to the Granite Knolls park, which features several additional miles of nature and hiking trails.
