Waffle House started in Atlanta and is still world headquarters for the brand. You will notice them EVERYWHERE.. for good reason. It's comfort food (mostly breakfast) fast and friendly. If you've never tried it, you should.

Sightseeing

Gwinnett County has the best public parks in the state. I think every park has walking trails where you can get out, get some fresh air and take in some of the amazing greenery that gives Atlanta the name, "city in a forest". The Harmony Grove Soccer Complex is just up the street and the stone Mountain Aquatic center is only a few minutes away. There are different offerings at every park. The parks are maintained very well and they are safe, fun places to spend some outdoor time. Google Gwinnett Parks near me and see just how many there are very close.

This Hindu temple is open to the public most of the time. There is no cost to go and see this amazing structure. It is built with no mortar, instead the pieces of stone are cut in a way that like a puzzle all fit and hold it'self together. Amazing artwork on the walls, ceilings, nearly everywhere you look it is sculptured. They do have a gift store where you can buy items from soaps (the jasmine is very good) to sweets and spices. A cultural adventure VERY nearby.

Much to see and do here. From an elevated obstacle course, to miniature golf, 4D theater, Train rides and Skylifts. You can climb the mountain up and down, but it is a workout. Recommend most of the family can take the skyride to the top and walk down it's still an adventure but not nearly as brutal. There is a historical and environmental education center and much more.. Don't forget the lazer show on the face of the carving nightly is a great way to finish off the day. Most of the park is pay to play so check online for prices and availability.

A hometown hero.. this interactive museum is everything Coke. Lots to see and learn about this Atlanta Icon. You get to taste coke products sold around the world. (Helpful Hint: Have two cups, one with something you know you like, while you taste the unknown in the other hand... Some of them are definitely a cultural shift in flavor. )
