My favorite neighborhood coffee

The best small batch coffee in neighborhood and fantastic breakfast sandwiches. I would suggest the "Mr. Burns", with vegetarian options.

Outdoor patio spaces for eating and imbibing. It hosts a brewery, distillery, tea shop, ice cream, bakery, live music venues, sushi, coffee, tons of food carts, and neighborhood character. The Rebuilding Center is always a fun place to walk through for creative inspiration. When you make it to the top (hill at the cross of Skidmore) you can see the (pink toned window) building called the "Big Pink" in downtown. Once upon a time it hosted a trolley car, today simply a fantastic historic street that has everything.

City/town information

Just about an hour drive from Portland, this little riverside town is quaint place for a day visit. Lots of waterfalls on the way and driving through the Columbia Gorge is a pretty scene. The short mile of downtown is full of shops, cafes, restaurants, and a fun place to watch kite surfers and windsurfers. East of there and a picturesque drive towards Mt. Hood, you can find u-pick fruit orchards and wineries for a picnic.

Sightseeing

If you are looking for an ocean experience, this little seaside town is fun. A great place for walking in the sand and the small downtown hosts galleries, shops and restaurants. Also try to visit in the winter (Dec-Jan) and spring (March-May) when the grey whales migrate. Super cool!
