On the day ticket sales available but you may not get access to all areas of the palace and there are long queues to get tickets. The Generalife Gardens are highly recommended to visit during the month of May when they are in full bloom - absolutely stunning.

Outdoor Activities
Not only used during the winter season for skiing & snowboarding but during the rest of the year many more activities available ie. hiking, mountain biking, birdwatching etc
Lots going on all year round not just skiing and snowboarding in the winter. Walking/hiking trails available, mountain biking, birdwatching etc. Beautiful with lots of fresh clean air & a place to escape the heat of Granada city as the temperature up the mountain is much fresher.

Explore the Alpujarran white villages & taste the locally produced cured ham and other local dishes whilst enjoying a refreshing beverage at one of the local bars, who still serve free tapas with beer or wine (& sometimes soft drinks too).
Lots of hiking/walking trails to enjoy and there is a Tourist Office in the spar town of Lanjaron,w where plenty of information on the area can be found.

Ways to save
Choose a Menu del Dia as your main meal at a local bar
From Monday to Friday (and sometimes at the weekend) the majority of bars offer a Menu del Dia. This is usually a 3 course meal including one drink for an all in price of between 10 - 15euros per person. Rather than going out for a meal in the evening which can work out quite pricey, have your main meal at lunchtime like the locals do.
