Prescott Tips

Prescott has a mile high altitude. Weather conditions can change suddenly. Make sure to wear layers clothes to adapt to the changing temperatures. In addition, ensure you properly hydrate while you are here, and even before your trip. This will help with the dry Arizona climate and altitude sickness

Prescott is a pretty small town, it may be difficult to get an Uber or Lyft late or on a weeknight.

Untouched wilderness

Prescott is most famous for its wilderness and hiking trails. The town is surrounded by Prescott National Forest, make sure to spend some time in our beautiful ponderosa pine forests before you leave!
Ways to save

Bring your National Park Pass

Many nearby outdoor recreation areas are in the Prescott National Forest. Parking is free with a park pass. This includes Thumb Butte, Lynx Lake, Goldwater lake and many trailheads. If you do not have a pass, parking in the National Forest is free on Wednesdays. Watson and willow lakes are on state land, you will still need to pay a small fee to park.
