Food Scene

Arguably the best Italian restaurant in Dallas, it's been on a 6 week wait for a table since they opened 2 years ago. There are four seats at the bar that are first come first serve. The food is all hand made daily and amazing.

This is a TexMex dinner, scratch kitchen, not sophisticated and the interior is special in it's own way. The food is solid, prices low with large portions, service is good enough. It's family run now for 20+ years. Breakfast tacos to go are the pro move.

Excellent local spot, their house made beers are great as is the cocktail program which is limited but fresh and excellent. The food program is pretty solid, especially for a bar. There is a nice small patio out back. The one downside are the hours, they are closed Sun & Mon to brew beer exclusively and close at midnight the rest of the week.

First of all, on this category listing of airbnb's there needs to be the category of "amazing dive bar" cuz that's what Barbara's is. Local scene catering to LGBT community but everyone is welcome to embarrass themselves on the karaoke stage. No food, but the drinks are stiff and cheap.

It's the best cocktail bar in a 2 block proximity to the house. It suffers from thinking it is better than it is. If you order at the bar and keep it limited to what's on the menu or a basic classic you'll be fine.

While Chicago has the Field Museum in Texas along with our tainted text books we get a museum to study Nature and Science through the lens of the petroleum industry. While the dinosaur collection is pretty solid and the gemology section is down right stunning, like one of the best I've ever seen, the museum borders between a justification of natural gas fracking and an amusement park.

So not to be an ass but if you're saving pennies by staying in an airBnB 4510 is NOT your store. The upside is it's an amazing store, stunning in it's presentation. I'd recommend perusing all the beautiful things and people that are always around and heading to the top floor to have an overpriced Americano at the bar. It's expensive but it's fabulous.

Essentials

This is the closest Gstore, pretty serviceable, with a solid produce section. This protein section, butcher, in the back is a bit of a trip if you're not familiar with Latin culture grocery stores. The "Latin" aisle with the prayer candles is a pretty solid viewing as well. The checkout lines are maybe worse than Walmart, whatever you do don't be tempted to get in the line that sells lottery tickets, walkup ticket sales take priority over checking out grocery customers.

Ok, this place is getting a little deep into the Latin culture in my neighborhood but there are a few things that are straight amazing. In the butcher counter they make the best guacamole, salsa verda and roja and it's cheap. After you fumble your way through that order with the counter clerk that doesn't speak English pickup a pack of fresh four tortillas, they are hot and fing amaz. Check out their prayer candle section it's legit. Now go home and slather those tortillas in butter and crack open a Modelo beer and all will be right in the Oak Cliff.
