Sightseeing
The welland canal is 42 kms in length and connects Lakes Ontario and Erie, this is where the “ships climb the mountain” (Niagara escarpment) there are 8 locks in total 4 of them within a short distance from our house the highest point of the locks is lock 7 which is right up the street in Thorold.
