About thirty kilometres north east of Gulgong in New South Wales is a walk to the Hands on the Rock aboriginal ancient site. It’s a bit of a scramble up to the art but well worth it. Suggest take a picnic lunch and do this walk in the morning and then a few hundred metres away on the other side of the road is a beautiful walk into The Drips which would be perfect location for a picnic. Make sure you do both walks.

The zoo is quite spread out, but you can drive your own car or ride a bike around it instead of walking. There are parking spaces near most animal viewing areas. A great family day out.
