Mosby Creek Trailhead

Just a short drive to Mosby Creek Trail Head on Mosby Creek Rd/Layng Rd. a good place to park and walk on the the Rails to Trails paved path. There is a drinking fountain and restrooms available before your trek. Great for bicycles or walking. What was once the railroad going to the Bohemia Lumber Mill 25 miles east of town is now a fairly level paved path that takes you over the river and through the woods. Also, as the path crosses Layng Rd. you will see the pasture and the mountain ahead is where the movie Stand By Me was filmed. The trail follows parts of the Row River and covered bridges.
Also known as Cottage Grove Lake, just 3 miles from Sunsets on the Butte. A great place for a picnic and swimming. Complete with tables, firepits (not during fire season) and restrooms. There is also a boat dock.
