Date Night ~ Special Occasion! Located an hour from the Mango Farm at the 4 Seasons ($$$$) ocean-front mostly Italian restaurant. The food and overall experience is really special. If you can't get a reservation, the bar/lounge has first-come, first served seating, which we love and feel is a better experience to the more formal dining room. The lounge is epic, which consists of an outdoor dining area with oversized teak chairs and couches with oversized coffee tables. Ocean-front, relaxed and fun. They often have live Hawaiian music on the lawn. The menu is pricey, but if you're on a budget, stick with the pizzas (prosciutto, marscapone, arugala or the mushroom). Consider a pre or post meal walk north or south of the restaurant which adds to the experience. You can even bring a bottle of wine or beers and sit in a lounge chair right on the beach (there are some both north and south of the restaurant) The

A 1.5 hour drive from the farm, but worth it. Beautiful restaurant with incredible food. Our favorites are the radish salad (yes, just try it - you will LOVE) and the hay smoked Kampachi. They have some bar seating if you can't get reservations. $$$$

Our local black sand beach, about 20 mins from the farm, heading South. Go to the far end of the beach for shade and the best access to the water. Often frequented by dolphins, this is a great place for a swim and to hang out for the day. Bring a picnic and stay for the day or catch an epic sunset.

Go for the day if you love hiking. We recommend the Kiluea Iki hike which will take you across the lava/moonscape and also thru the rainforest. It is really special and not too difficult. You can bring a picnic or go out to dinner in Volcano - the visitor center has a restaurant, and there's also Thai and Italian in the little town.

A perfect day trip up North. Bring a picnic or stop in Hawi for lunch before heading down to the Valley. It's about a 30 minute walk down into the valley - which has a black sand beach and Ironwood forest.

The main white sand beach in Kona - in the winter the sand disappears, but in the spring/summer/fall, this is a fun and lively beach for advanced boogie boarding and playing in the waves. Be careful if the waves are big. Talk with the lifeguard if you have any questions.
