the cascavelle shopping village is a great place to find food of all types, clothing and other things. cool place to go to and accessible by public transport as well

Getting around
rent a car
a car is the easiest way to get around the island. more expensive than public transport yes but less expensive than taxis and definitely safer than scooters and bikes. public transport can often be crowded or you may have to wait longer than expected to get on a bus. public transport also stop operating at different hours of the afternoon/evening depending on the area so if you want night outs, a car remains the best option

footwear not allowed in some temples
you have to remove footwear before entering a hindu/indian temple.
What to pack
water shoes
it's a good idea to carry or buy water shoes before coming as you do not want to get hurt by the corals on the beach. it's good protection.
