Sightseeing

This is among the most prominent temples in Chennai, with distinctive architecture, and a part of "Old Madras". While visiting this temple, one ought to go to St. Thomas's Church, and the Marina Beach, and possibly get on top of the Lighthouse for a panoramic view of both the city and the Bay of Bengal.

This place is en route to Mahabalipuram ( Mamallapuram ) and is a sine-qua-non to soak in the culture of the South. The Egmore Museum is a must-see too, for some incredible artefacts coming down the centuries.

This is not the biggest mall in Chennai, but both denizens of the city and those coming from outside, ie, rest of India and overseas, have rated it as the most happening mall in the city. It has an eclectic crowd drawn from all walks of life, and has a extensive food court to whet every palate, just beside the Palazzo multiplex, which has several screens running the latest films in all languages. Forum Vijaya Mall is readily accessible from my place

Getting around

Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) connectivity

Good to download the CMRL map as this is one easy, comfortable and quick way to get around the city. Certain areas that my not be readily accessible by the Metro, eg, Besant Nagar or Marina Beach, Kapaleeswarar temple and so on, can be accessed easily by other forms of transport. Places like Egmore Museum, Forum Vijaya Mall or Express Avenue Mall can be reached by the Metro. As mentioned in accessibility to my place, Airport is five metro stations away, and Koyambedu Bus Terminus four, and Central Station a few more.
