Stabekk is a quiet neighbourhood in Bærum which is the nearest community to Oslo. The communication to Oslo is very good, and takes only 15 minutes. If you don’t want to make your own dinner there are plenty of opportunities, both restaurants and take away. Near to our apartment Restaurant Jeppehuset offers good Norwegian food. If you prefer takeaway it’s possible to order sushi or pizza at Stabekk. At Bekkestua, about 1 km from Stabekk threre are even more restaurants. Stabekk and Bekkestua also has a lot of different shops. Near Stabekk railway station Bolina is located. This shop is famous for its interior articles, and also have som clothes. At Baker Hansen you can stop for a nice cup of coffee or tea, perhaps with some bakery food.

Sightseeing
If you like to reach to the top and get a fantastic view over the Oslofjord you should take a walk to Kolsåstoppen. You can reach it from the stop Hauger at Kolsåsbanen. From there it s about 60 mins walk to the top. The last part is quite steep so be sure to wear good shooes. If you are afraid of hights you should take care, hovever the path is in good shape with steps and rails some places.

Rekreasjon
Fornebu is the former location for the airport which was discontinued in 1995. Now this has been a beautiful place near the sea, with beaches, nice walking spaces, shopping and restaurants.
