Amazing tacos, in a fun lively environment! One of our favorite places. All of their tacos are great, and the gringas are very tasty too! They offer bug spray to customers because it is open air.Especially be sure to spray your legs.

The ruins are beautiful! A must see in Tulum. But go early in the morning if possible. They open at 8 AM. It gets very hot there. Take water to drink, and you can swim on the beach in part of the park.

The ruins in Coba are beautiful, and you can climb a temple which offers long range views of the area. It is worth hiring a guide to see the first half of the park. Their fees are negotiable. After the guided part of the ruins we like to rent bikes to see the rest, but you can also walk. Take water and bug spray!

Valladolid is a beautiful colonial town with lots of shopping, history, and restaurants. There is a great cenote in the middle of town that we love! It is called Cenoti Zach. It has ledges that people regularly jump off of. So bring your swim suit when you are ready for a refreshing swim. We have read great reviews about the restaurant at the cenote, but have not tried it yet.

Traveler advice

Getting around

Driving in Tulum

Tulum has a lot of foot traffic crossing the main avenue. A note to foreign drivers, you are required to yield to pedestrians on the raised crosswalks, but not on the flat crosswalks. Also, many people will pass on the right and left, especially on scooters, so be careful when making turns. Watch out on some of the side streets for manholes that have no covers.
Don't miss

Tulum Murals Street Art

There are some amazing murals around Tulum, especially on the roads that parallel both sides of the main avenue in the central part of town. Riding bikes would be the best way to see them, but in a car would be fine as well. On the North end of Tulum by the hospital there are murals throughout the neighborhood! Just turn left of the main avenue by Burger King, and ride around the area on the right side.
