Citibike around town
Skip the subway and use Citibike to get around town. That way you get to take in all the sights as you travel.
Customs and culture
Getting a table at restaurants
There are tons of great restaurants around the apartment, however you likely didn't make a reservation in time. Leave the apartment like 2 hours before you want to eat and go put your name in at some of the restaurants in the neighborhood (Emmy, Jajaja, Minetta Tavern tend to be some of the more popular options)
