This is a 3 hour drive making it a stretch for a day trip, but it's a beautiful drive. Dali lived here for many years. You can visit his home, but you almost certainly need to reserve at least a week in advance. The town itself is also nice as it sits right on cove.

Nice old town. I think it's home to the only duchy left in France (though I can't recommend visiting the duchy as it is overpriced). Visit the tower in the medieval garden instead. There's a Haribo Candy museum on the outskirts of town as well as a fantastic Belgian Fry place. Over 90 minutes away.

Olive Oil

This region produces excellent olive oil. Did you know there are different varietals if olives? Have you ever done an olive oil tasting?
Relatively large shop with many olive and olive oil based products. Tours are available in French and they may also have an English tour. Olive oil is available in bottles as you would expect, but also in a plastic pouch that is very good for plane transport. About 20 minutes away.

It's difficult to know when this place will be open. However if you are lucky enough to find it open the olive oil is excellent.
