Beautiful walks along the river. Little run down, but a fish hatchery that is sure to excite kids. Make sure you go all the way to the pond where you will see large fish jump for the fish food. Camp Sherman is what brought my husband and family to the area. Love the peace and quiet when we hike or camp here.

AT THIS SPOT NORTH OF Black Butte the Metolius River flows from an underground spring. Water gushes from beneath the ground at a rate of 50,000 U.S. gallons per minute (190,000 liters per minute). At the viewing area, you can see the springs just below you, and look downstream to the fully-formed river flowing away to the north.

The lake is located in a glacial cirque, below Tam McArthur Rim, which was probably last occupied by glacial ice about 13,000 years ago during the Canyon Creek advance of the Cabot Creek glaciation. The outlet stream from the lake flows northward and is joined by two other streams to form Three Creek. The lake is surrounded by old growth forest, and is easy to fish from shore.

Traveler advice
Getting around
While on the ranch bikes are a great way to get around.
If you have a bike or can rent one at Glaze Meadow sports shop, that is the best way to explore the ranch. Only walking or riding a bike is the way to reach Paulina pool it's small and quiet, with a nearby spring. Parking is not available.
