Only 1 mile north of the home. In the summer they have live music outside usually Friday and Saturday evenings. They also have fire gas pits set-up outside with Adirondack chairs to sit around.
The bar is a great local hangout and great to hangout inside on a cold winter day. They also have a great food truck with great sliders and salads.

just a little south of the home (less than a mile) across highway 550. Great dive bar and family friendly. They have a pool table and shuffle board and great place to add a dollar bill to their walls that are covered in them. Create your own memory.
They have great pizza, order it at the bar! Many times when I am tired from the long drive Phoenix to Durango I place my order to pick up the pizza while in downtown Durango and pick it up on the way to the home.

If you have kids with energy this is a great place that you can watch them run around.

The ski resort is only 2 miles north of the home and they have two ski to restaurants. One on the back side of the mountain and one on the front side. The front side restaurant has the best bar to see the most amazing rocky mountain views from. The back side ski up restaurant has great food.
The also added to Purgatory the Waffle Cabin. Rated top 10 Waffle places in the country. I use to ski in Vermont and that was the only one I had seen. It is a most try after a long day of skiing.
