Local Eats

Places we have grown to love around the area. Hope you enjoy. Let us know your thoughts.
This place has had line ups up the block - but everyone who has been loves the ice cream. We are into Sept. so a good time to get a sample with (hopefully shorter wait times ;)

Great pizza - really! Just a block and a half away. Have an authentic hearth to cook your pizzas. Also a little play area for the kids so you can sneak in a glass of wine before the pizza arrives ;) Hip decor - great place to meet friends for drinks and a bite. My husband is picky about his beer (German influence) but is never left disappointed with the options here.

Recommend Happy Hour 3-6 daily (drinks and appies). Love this place in the summer because of their stunning floor-to-ceiling windows or open-air deck during the warmer months for a closer look at all the beach action / full beach views.

This restaurant created waves when it first found itself on the Kits food scene. You can order a la carte or go for the tasting menu. Rated as a top 3 for restaurants in Vancouver and #34 on the top 100 in Canada list.

We are fans of Thai for sure. This place takes Thai to a whole new level. It is pricier than your regular green curry take out but if you are wanting a really delicious meal by chefs at the top of their game, this is it. They

This place serves awesome pasta and pizza (real wood fire oven). You can even get brunch here with some unique items you aren't typically going to find on a normal breakfast menu. Mimosa's are also on special during brunch :) -Also a nice short walk from our place.

Just two blocks away from the house. It's a smaller sized grocery store but offers pretty much anything you could need (the jam a lot into that little store) - including premade items for a quick lunch. A decent selection of veggies and fruits too. Priced reasonably for the area.

The place for healthy, vegan, veggie and organic food. Offers a lot of premade and tasty healthy options. Groceries as well, be prepared to pay a bit more but no compromise on quality. Can also sit outside and enjoy your meal.

I think the closest pharmacy. Also offers everything you could need in a local drug store. It's the go to for most Vancouverites now. If you shop at Superstore or are an Optimum member cetain deals and shopping days mean extra points.

-A must see for tourists to Vancouver. The highlight is the gondola but depending on the time of year there's lots of different activities going on up at the top. If you are around during the winter you can even enjoy some skating at the top. -We even have a few resident grizzly bears living up there who were rescued cubs many years back. Here's a livecam where they often frequent. https://www.grousemountain.com/web-cams/bear-pond-cam -A new ropes climbing adventure: https://www.grousemountain.com/mountain-ropes-adventure?gclid=Cj0KCQjw2efrBRD3ARIsAEnt0ej-SdK9mio9FN3PDCNFW48KN1KSu0lu9bK4PJY0IF4DgF93dhHob5gaAlo5EALw_wcB

We are so lucky to live near the island. It offers so much for tourists, great restaurants, views of downtown. Local entertainment and a hub for some of the best local professional artists in Vancouver. You can spend the day here. No need to drive you wish, as it is at best a 15-minute walk. https://granvilleisland.com/
