Closest hike from the house. It should take a couple of hours to hike. The trailhead starts at a Buddhist temple called Karma Triyana Dharmachakra where sometimes there is chanting to be heard. You walk by a beautiful old abandoned monastery, and at the top is a watch tower you can climb up for epic views.

If you want to hang in Kingston, Stone Ridge or New Paltz one day there is a hiking trail by that area that I love! It’s a small less trafficked trail that meanders around a creek and then opens up to the Hudson River. You can’t swim there but it’s so beautiful, cool and a great place to picnic! Winding Brook RoadIf you want to hang in Kingston, Stone Ridge or New Paltz one day there is a hiking trail by that area that I love! It’s a small less trafficked trail that meanders around a creek and then opens up to the Hudson River. You can’t swim there but it’s so beautiful, cool and a great place to picnic! It’s one of my favorite hikes.
If you park along the road above the waterfall versus the parking area, there is an entry where the hike starts at a small water hole. This hike doesn’t get too trafficked and I love taking a dip at the end of the hike!
