Here's a list of some of our favorite local eateries. So much great food and so little time to try them all! We have personally dined at all places on this list. Many are "local" where tourists don't often get to.

You'll usually need reservations well ahead of time at this pseudo upscale Israeli food restaurant. The pita bread is made fresh in a pizza oven and served piping hot to your table. Worth the expense.

Ok, down in the belly of the beast in the French Quarter GW Fins is pricey and upscale but really really really great food! Check the dress code. It's not formal but they don't allow "beach" wear or too casual attire. Impeccable service. wonderful atmosphere and food.

What a great place! So much to see and do here. The newly expanded sculpture garden is a must see. Our favorite spot is the "Wind Chime Tree." As you come in the park's main entrance, a short stroll just to the right you'll see an ancient, shady oak tree that has many wind chimes hanging all over it. Some of them are HUGE! A great spot to sit and relax.

A very special place. On St. Charles across from Loyola University. Take a nice walk on the circular trail ( about 45 minutes ). You'll see huge ancient oaks, beautiful stately houses on the park trail boundaries, many turtles and ducks in the pond. There's a golf course in the center. The Audubon Zoo is adjacent.
