My favorite art gallery in an historical setting FREE or low cost

The historical Charlemont House (1908) is home to The Dublin City Gallery also known as the Hugh Lane after the Irish born art collector. He left two wills one bequeathing his entire collection firstly to the National Gallery in London and later to The Dublin City Gallery. So what this means to us is that 4 of its 8 masterpieces are in Dublin until 2021 : Les Parapluies by Renoir Eva Gonzales by Manet Jour d ete by Morisot and View of Louveciennes by Picasso Unmissable also are the bejeweled Harry Clarke Stained glass window display and the entire chaotic studio of Francis Bacon exactly as he left it.

Breweries and distillery's

This is one of the largest and most popular brewery tours in Ireland. Local Tip: Make sure you use your drink ticket to learn how to pour the perfect pint and bring it up to the gravity bar. Do not use it on samples which you will get anyway.

Activities/Tours

Dublin has a river flowing to the sea at its heart. These cruises are an ideal rail and sea combination to explore Dublin bay and stunning coastline. Take the DART public transport light rail from Pearse Street behind Trinity college to either DunLaoighre or Howth to start your cruise. Local Tip: Do not take the city centre to DunLaoighre cruise unless you are limited on time. Rather take the full 75 minute tour from either of the two lovely villages of Howth and DunLaoighre which bookend Dublin bay. It is worth the trip and the train is also very enjoyable.
