sunscreen and sunglasses during any season
Drink a good amount of water before arriving if you are not used to traveling in high altitudes.
This area is a very dry area of the country so open flames fires of any kind are never allowed anywhere. Remember to also always lock your car. The bears around here can and will get into your vehicle to get whatever tasty treat you may have left in there.
In case of snow in the area it is very wise to travel this way with AWD / 4 wheel drive. Good tires for snow is a bonus as well. If we do get snow while you are out exploring you may find yourself walking up the hill to return.
