The best restaurants in walking distance

Here are my favorite places, from fancy to hole in the wall. And there's a lot to choose from!
Best Italian downtown. Not your traditional Italian American place! Service is outstanding, but there is usually a wait.

Don't judge this place from the outside. The food is great, huge portions, and the prices are the same from before downtown got all fancy.

This place will hook you with the best gelato outside of Rome. If you choose to go to the ice cream place across the street instead(cough, cough...Little Damage) don't say I didn't warn you.

Want to go hang out in a place that's been french dipping sandwiches since 1908? Here you go. Pro tip: at night, go through the secret back door to enter their speakeasy, the Association.

They got some amazing New Orleans food here. And don't think the place stops at the front bar. Keep on down the hallway....

Ok this one isn't walking distance...but it's the only steakhouse I go to. Ask Alex to make you a dirty martini the way James likes it; order the coulotte cut medium rare(only two cuts of these per steer), and ask the waiter to show you the booth that Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack used to sit in. Oh yeah, did I not mention this was their favorite too? This place has been around since 1947.
