Pep's is fairly new, but can cover your needs on several fronts. 1- Breakfast and Coffee. Some great breakfast choices and is probably the best quick coffee spot on the North Shore. 2- quick lunch/bites. 3 - great beer selection as you are heading home.

OK, Garwoods is usually crowded and a bit overpriced, BUT it can be a great place to enjoy the lake while having well-prepared food and super drinks. If you can catch the sunset on the deck without too much of a mob, fantastic.

This one is longer, though if you have kids you can go part of the way up and back. There is a stream so there are places to get in the water when it's hot. If you do go all the way it's about 3-4 hours up and back. In the summer you can hike all the way to high camp and take the tram back down (when operations are running).
