Wonderful white beach, secluded but only about 5 minutes from the main road. Its a perfect spot for a short walk, picknick and kids love to play and run a round. White beaches are less common in Iceland and in combination with the black cliffs its a beautiful spot - even though the sea is very cold its fun to run around barefoot :)

Hellnar is a tiny place, down by the sea. If you drive past the hotel accomodation and toward the beach, there is a parking lot and you can walk down to the sea. There is a small and charming café called Fjöruhúsið (the beach house) that sells soup, bread, cakes, waffels, coffe and drinks. It has a beautiful veranda and amazing view over the sea, bird cliffs and beach. There are walking paths to Arnarstapi that are also very nice and not difficult (about 2 km) so you could also park there and walk.
