A very reasonably priced, great quality thai restaurant. It is pretty small so better ask for take away, it's ready in a few minutes.

Hummus Bar has restaurants all over town (there's one in Wesselényi utca close to the Great Synagogue too) and sell very good falafel sandwiches and hummus plates.

This casual restaurant is a bit pricier than my other recommendations but the service and the quality of food has been excellent for years now. The menu includes Hungarian and Mediterranean dishes.

This Russian-Hungarian restaurant has great food and is located on a very charming square. If you are brave enough, go for the vodka degustation set!

If you take your coffee really seriously, you should try this place, run by competition winning baristas. Try the coffee-tonic cocktail in summer, it's surprisingly good!

The most famous "ruin bar" in Budapest, it has become increasingly touristy in the past years but you should definitely check it out, better go early though. It also hosts markets on weekends.
