Many argue that Chez Bruce put Wandsworth on the culinary map when it won a Michelin Star, and despite 20-odd years in the neighbourhood it’s still winning allocades, being awarded the esteemed title of ‘London’s favourite restaurant’ in 2014. All this luxury doesn’t come too cheap, but with beautiful French and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine is certainly worth trying to get a booking for a special occasion.

Wandsworth’s history with beer goes back to the 1500s, but there’s nothing old-fashioned about this new beer shop on Upper Richmond Road. Specialising in craft and rare beers, it’s an excellent place to browse for an unusual hop-based beverage, or pick up a beer-lovers gift – they sell beer books, gift packs and party kegs too.
