Great pub with magnificent views across the castle. Go there for a drink or a meal...and ask about Jamaican BBQ which they often do in garden on a Friday.

You'll need to book a table in advance. All locally sourced food, excellent service and menu...not cheap and a little bit 'London on Sea'.

Drinks & Nightlife

an unusual pub with a small hatch where you but the drinks and then mostly sit outside on benches hewn from stone with views across the meadows and see. It's been in same family for generations, food options limited...bring a warm coat even on a balmy evening...there's a strong sea breeze.

lots of food options and beers. Great garden overlooking the sea and if rainy always a magnificent log fire. While there check out the tiny village church.

Getting Around

Old fashioned train station where you can catch a steam train through the countryside into Swanage or if you're energetic you can walk across hilltop into Swanage and get the train back.

Shopping

Specialist Chocolate shop made on premises...once you've found it you'll see a few other interesting shops. Other than these Swanage shopping is not too thrilling.
