Parks & Nature
Buttermilk is just minutes from the major big box shopping strip in Ithaca. Amazingly close to it all, yet delightful to discover. A beautiful waterfall awaits your arrival, hiking up the gorge trail on stone steps, playing on the the playground, and swimming are just a few options for this spot. It's super close to town and there's really no reason not to at least stop here for a few minutes. The backdrop of a huge waterfall makes it a great spot for your classic "I'm in Ithaca" selfie or group shot.

I put this in Art & culture because the Ithaca Farmers market is the spot to get a taste of our thriving local economy. There are many markets each week each with their own taste and flare, but the weekend markets on the waterfront are the ones to visit if you want to experience full the power and majesty of this 40+ year market community.
My farm sell their Sat,Sunday, and Tuesday downtown July-Oct.

There are many markets each week each with their own taste and flare, but the weekend markets on the waterfront are the ones to visit if you want to experience full the power and majesty of this 40+ year market community.

It's run by Jan Norman an amazing business visionary and true local hero. This is a must visit in Ithaca! If you're there during the week, it's right by Tuesday Farmer's market and our local bookstore.
