When staying in Athens, visiting Lycabettus Hill is a must! At only 10 mins walk you will be found on a hill full of pines. You can visit it early in the morning or at evening to admire the amazing view during the sunset of the whole city, Acropolis and the sea. For those who like climbing, don't forget to walk up on the top of the hill, in the small church of St. George. You have a feeling of flying over the city! There is a sympathetic cafeteria near the church where you can have a drink.

Everything Else

Ymittos is one of the three mountains that surround Athens. It is close to the city and you can either go by taxi or rent a bike. The route will compensate you! Ideal for pique nique, yoga and contemplation in the nature, running and climbing. Natural park, with many interesting plants. Wonderful view to the city and ruins of ancient and byzantine temples around. There is a kiosk where you can have lunch or cofee.

The Park of Akademia Platonos is my favorite! It is the place where Platon created his Academy and it's ful of trees and ruins, quiet and lovely. You can wander around and imagine that you are a pupil of the Academy. Very powerful energy! After your walk don't miss a cofee at the Cooperative cafeteria of Academia Platonos, at the entrance of the park (Monastiriou str)
