Peaks Island and Portland, Maine

Portland Maine has the best food.

These are just our personal favorites and walkable from the ferry. (Wear comfortable shoes!) Many great places are not on this list. Please excuse the enthusiasm: it can't be helped as they are all just spectacular. You may need to reserve ahead!
Take the 11:15 am boat and get a table before the crowds arrive. Our favorites: Damariscotta oysters, lobster roll, tuna crudo, dirty oyster martini.

Getting around

Getting to Peaks

Casco Bay Lines. Check the schedule specifically for car ferries. Lines can be long in the summer. Park in the Peaks Island car line and go inside for tickets. Sometimes when it's crowded they run an extra ferry! Be in your car 15 minutes before scheduled departure. If you have time, head over to Flatbread for a beer and excellent pizza to go!
