There are tables and benches outside where you can sit with a book or gaze at the towers of Canary Wharf over the river opposite.

There are tables and benches outside where you can sit with a book or gaze at the towers of Canary Wharf over the river opposite.
Don’t miss the Canada Water market in Porter Square (opposite the tube station) every Saturday and Sunday. There are a variety of food stalls with delicious cakes, pastries, coffee and a variety of ethnic food. There is also a grocery stall for fresh fruit and vegetables.

It is a small museum situated at the Brunel Engine House in Rotherhithe in memory of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, a famous British engineer who pioneered the first tunnel under the Thames, amongst many other feats of engineering innovation. The museum has a small cafe outside. You can book tickets for a night of cocktails and candle light at the Rooftop Garden via the designmynight website - search for 'midnightapothecary'.
