The best place in Gazipasa for traditional Turkish breakfast, in my personal opinion. This place specializes in hosting big events such as weddings or parties, however, they serve delicious breakfast and lunches in the daytime. Located on the beachside, so you could enjoy only food but also the beautiful view.

The ancient city of Antioch is located 18 km from the province of Gazipasa. Antioch was once the center of pirate activity. This coast was used by Cilician pirates as a refuge. They used to hunt from these shores in the first half of the century BC. During the excavations the head of the statue of Aphrodite and ancient mosaics were found. Excavations have been carried out since 2005 by Turkish and American scientists. The city is located at an altitude of 350 meters. It is protected from several sides by rocks and steep slopes. In this region the mountains are parallel to the sea. This royal bay creates an atmosphere of privacy.

Delik Deniz. This miracle of nature is located 23 km from Gazipasa. The bay is known as the “Leaky Sea” as well as King's Bay. It is believed that King Antiochus entered the sea here, which is why for many years it was called King's Bay. A huge stone arch in the rock grows fifty meters up. The color of the water changes depending on the time of day and the weather it may become azure or emerald.

Yalan Dünya Cave is in Beyrebucak Village of Gazipaşa. The cave with its 5 million years of history fascinates those who see it. There is a sad story of the cave being called the 'World of Lies Cave'. The legend says that a man and a girl from the surrounding villages fell in love with each other but had to hide their romance from the villagers. Not to be seen, the lovers were spending all their time in the cave. One day, when they met again at their secret place, an earthquake occured, and the cave collapsed and separated the lovers forever. Thus, the story of their secret affair will forever remain a rumor or simply a lie. In memory of the lovers, the cave where they could never get reunited again was called the World of Lies Cave.

Beautiful beach side with sandy coast. This beach is perfect for long swim due to the calm waves-free waters. Changing rooms and access to tap water is available. There is also a small cafeteria sponsored by local municipality, which means prices for the menu are very attractive and affordable.

Customs and culture

Be extra cautious while crossing the road as a pedestrian!

In Turkey pedestrians should always be extra cautious and mindful while crossing the road. It’s important to stop on the opposite side of the road before crossing a street and wait until there is no vehicles to avoid being hit by cars. Drivers in here do not break even on zebras. Look both ways before proceeding across roads and make sure it is absolutely safe to cross the road.
