OMG a fabulous day trip. Leave early; drive to Hattaras Island (1. 5 hrs)and take the 1 hr ferry ride to enjoy your whole day or maybe 2 on the island. See the great shops, lighthouse, restaurants. Don't miss Howard's Pub or the Village Craftmen shop, The Brittish Cemitary & Springer's Point where the famous Blackbeard was finally captured & killed.
