Great food and friendly staff. It's usually full, so get there early or grab a pager and enjoy strolling or wine tasting somewhere. We enjoy eating at the bar. You can also order to go and have a romantic dinner at home.

Outdoor venue made out of shipping containers. An excellent place to wind down from a busy day and watch the cars go by. Wonderful drinks, awesome food including pizza & bocce balls and the best gelato around. Hard to pick a flavor. And you can play bocce or watch the local sports team.

My favorite brunch places

Mimosa flights - welcome to vacation. Everything is perfect, although it does take time. Plan to eat here at least once, early in the trip so you can bring home leftovers. For a quick breakfast, grab a latte and muffin from the to go window.

A must for every visitor. Former mining railroad (first operational in 1912) takes a 4 hour, 20 mile journey between Clarkdale & Perkinsville through the Verde Canyon and then back. Put away the phones (no cellular service) and enjoy the journey. Watch for eagles & other wildlife. They also have special train rides throughout the year, so plan ahead.

Tuzigoot, Apache for "crooked water" -- is the remnant of a Sinagua village erected between 1125 and 1400 AD. It's a fascinating structure built on a hill overlooking farmland.

Day Tripping

Plan to spend the day exploring these fascinating communities located just a short drive away. And at the end of the day, sit back & relax with a cold beverage while deciding where to stroll for dinner.
Sedona - A great place for day tripping, only 16 miles from the casita to the West side. Plan an early morning hike, followed by lunch & shopping, and then an afternoon sightseeing adventure.

Day tripping Jerome - Jerome sits like a jewel on the side of the mountain overlooking Cottonwood. On morning walks into Old Town it sparkles in the morning sun or might be covered in clouds. Sitting 1,750 feet in elevation above Cottonwood, the 8 mile drive includes numerous hairpin turns, so plan to spend the day exploring this fascinating old mining town. Then drive on back and enjoy the walk into town for dinner.
