Can be seen from Scott’s Bay. There are two trails that will take you out to the end of the mainland for a closer look at the Split. The hike is approximately 2-hours each way with some steep slopes. If you are up to this type of hike it’s well worth the effort.

Well worth a stop on your way to Scott’s Bay Beach. On a clear day four counties can be seen. Ice cream cones are served at the Lookoff Cafe.

Our favourite place is the 17-18th century deportation site marked with a remarkably solemn large iron cross. 2022 was the 150th Anniversary of Wordsworth poem Evangeline. Our family has been visiting the Domaine de Grand Pré since its beginnings in 1979. It is the oldest farm winery in Atlantic Canada. For the most recent decades it has been owned and operated by the Swiss-born Stutz family. The extended family is involved in all operations, included the fabulous restaurant. the surroundings of its summer patio are as fabulous as the food.

You can drive to the top parking lot and hike trails from there. For a steep hike park in the lower parking lot and try the Borden Brook trail or the Jodrey trail. These are trails I hike year round, seldom busy, even in July and August. I love the solitude these trails offer.
