Several locations, all within 12 minutes. Great authentic Mexican food, great prices, quick service. Free chips and salsa! Be sure to ask for the “Rango Sauce!” There’s an extra charge for it, but it’s sooooo worth it! A creamy ranch-like spicy dip or topping! We dip it and put it on everything!

In Wyndhurst, about 10 minutes away. THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLE!! The ice cream is ALL homemade, with unique flavors as well as traditional favorites; also offered are dairy-free options, keto-friendly options, and more. Best of all, when their flavors contain a baked good (such as graham cracker crumble) that baked item is ALSO homemade from scratch! Yes, homemade graham crackers! And we promise, we’ve never had a flavor we didn’t love!!

About 15 minutes from here, but if you want to experience truly traditional Lynchburg, this place is a must. It’s a glorified (and I do mean glorified) food truck, that’s got a long history of serving the area. Soft Serve ice cream, and specialties galore. They also have “Only 8” yogurt, a super yummy soft serve that is just 8 calories per ounce, or about 64 calories for a nice big serving! You can’t beat that! But here, it’s all about the vibe! Outdoor tables with umbrellas, nice loud music in a mix of pop and oldies, people and families coming and going…it’s the new version of the old time drive-in with servers on roller skates! (No roller skates here, though.)

Downtown, about 12 minutes away. Shoemakers offers somewhat more of a fine-dining experience, though not at all fussy, no need to dress up, though if you want to, you won’t feel out of place. The food is excellent, with some unique offerings in addition to the traditional menu items.
