Food Scene

Some of our favourite places to eat on the island
Fabulous seafood, cocktails and more. Great location for lunch or evening meal. Often has music in the evenings. Recommend the lobster or snapper when in season, and the mango daiquiri! Argue and decide who's the designated driver first though 🤔

Wonderful place to stop for lunch, popular with locals and visitors. Great views out over the bay, local specialities like goat curry and suckling pig, as well as family lunch favourites such as burgers. Grab a pina colada and take in the vista!

Bar scene

Great places for sundowners and more!
Great place for sundowners, people watching and hearing the clink of ropes and sails from the catamarans and other yacht in the harbour. Lone travellers can hang out at the bar, someone will soon engage you in conversation (if you want). Local expats frequent the place, as does the Jolly Harbour Yatcht Club (sat nights mainly). There is a small restaurant on site too serving Antigua and West Indian favourites.

Fancy having cocktails delivered to your sunbed? Or sipping and old fashioned as you watch the sun go down? Then this the place for you. This great beach bar on Jolly Beach offers a range of local and western dishes (think goat curry, conch, roti, or choose from a large range of burgers). Lovely ambience and friendly staff just steps away from the Caribbean Sea.

Entertainment, music, food & views

Places to visit that encompass more than just food and sightseeing
Sunday nights, Shirley Heights is a must! Get there before sunset and watch the sun go down with a rum punch (def a night to get a taxi). Amazing steel band music first, and then later there is normally a local band on. Most people go for the view, the rum punch and party atmosphere. There's excellent bbq food available if you want eat too. You can reserve a table and meal tickets in advance, otherwise you can buy it there, but might have to sit on the wall. It's a real party / carnival atmosphere there, suitable for the whole family (not ideal for push chairs or wheel chairs though due to uneven cobbles).

Sun worshipping

Some of our favourite beaches. We prefer the Caribbean side of the island with White sand and turquoise water
One of the best beaches on the Island. Not far from Pimento Villa (walkable). White sand, warm turquoise sea, and a great little beach bar, Sandra's. Watersports available if you want, otherwise a prefect place to chill out and with on your tan.

Sightseeing

Historic site, pretty interesting if you're into history, also nice restaurants there that does food (Copper & Lumber Yard Hotel, and The Pillars). You have to pay to get in as it is a world heritage site. Good place to buy souvenirs too, and gander at some of the large yacht moared there.

Wildlife and wild places

See some of the unique wildlife and wild places in Antigua and Barbuda.
A great place to discover theses amazing creatures up close. Learn to do the 'Sting Ray Shuffle', hand feed them and get your photo taken with them. Recommend going early in the day if possible, as later on there tends to be less of them as they've been well-fed by other visitors.

Take the Excellence ferry from St. John's over the water to the island of Barbuda. See the famous pink sand, the Frigate birds (best time November, December when the males are putting on a colourful show trying to attract their mates). See caves too, or visit the capital, Codrington.

Neighbourhoods

A gated community, largely populated by expats and tourists. Large supermarket, pharmacy, car rental, real estate offices, bars and restaurants aplenty. Pimento Villa is located just outside this community, so can enjoy all it has to offer. Taxi services available from here too.
