Food scene

This is one of our favourite places for brunch, coffee and breakfast. The food is AMAZING! Abi recommends the Turkish Eggs. Adam loves the pancakes. At times you might have to queue and it's probably not ideally for a leisurely drawn out afternoon catch up as tables are fairly closely spaced and there are likely to be other people waiting. https://en-gb.facebook.com/cafestrangebrew/

Superb food - large-ish tapas style plates enable to try lots of the amazing options on the menu. We especially loved the feta and pea croquettes and the roast potatoes but everything was incredible. Friendly, relaxed service too! We'd recommend booking a table in advance, especially at the weekend. https://www.loboglasgow.co.uk/

Dangerously close to the flat! Epic baked good, cakes and coffee to go - from sausage rolls, loafs, filled baguettes to patisserie everything is delicious! https://www.bigbearbakery.com/ We love the pain au suisse! Often a queue at peak time but it moves quickly - worth a wait.

Takeaway only. Delicious - 100% cooked on site. We love picking up a taco and relaxing in Queens Park - on a bench or lying out on the grass. Mmmmm.... cakes from here are also good if you've got some spare room in your tum. https://sacredtumtacos.com/

A solid lunch/ coffee choice - with a number of venue options over the south side of Glasgow. No longer serving full brunch menus, You can expect high-quality Scottish-roasted coffee, extra-large brownies and bakes, sausage rolls and pies, and ready-made sandwiches for sit-in or takeaway. Sometime a short wait for a table at peak periods.

Right behind the flat, Our Lane is a garden and community project that brings locals together. On sunny days it's a great place to take your morning coffee and to meet some of the locals who'll be happy to chat! Often pizza nights, bbq's and informal get togethers, or cooking competitions featuring lane produce are arranged. If you're visiting you'll be welcome to join in!

A great park with a couple of ponds, a play area for kids, a weekly parkrun, lots of paths for wondering and a fantastic view point over the city.

Around 20 minutes drive from the flat, this is Abi's regular wild swimming spot. On warm days, paddle boarding is also popular here. https://twinbikerun.com/2020/09/10/outdoor-swim-review-the-white-loch-revisted-andrew/
