Where to Eat in Big Bear

Food scene

Currently known as Tropicali! You can't beat the vibe at this Big Bear classic. It's a tiki bar style establishment run by surfer bros that somehow exists in the mountains and serves poke bowls??? You won't be disappointed.

Absolutely a must-stop spot for pies both sweet and savory. Pickles opens at 10:30 and will stay open until they sell out of pie. They can run out of specialty flavors pretty quick but you'll usually be able to get some pie even if you drop in around noon.

I think the name of this place is self explanatory, but what you might not expect is that they have kombucha on tap and do a Taco Tuesday (among other fun activities throughout the week). They've got vegan donuts and dog donuts and donuts for the rest of us, too.

Pop in here for great local coffee shop vibes but also a breakfast sandwich if you're looking for a grab and go meal. This is right near Dank Donuts which can make for a great morning pairing.

Coffee and delicious crepes with sweet and savory options! Think fruit, jams, Nutella, honey, meats, cheeses, honey. You name it, they probably put it in a crepe. You may have to wait a bit but the people are so kind and the food is delicious.

If you're looking for a great grab and go (or sit and eat) sandwich spot, check out Amangela's in The Village. They have plenty of outdoor seating, they make the most delicious potato salad, and they even serve cocktails. While you're waiting for your food you can check out the used record store next door.

Contrary to what the name suggests, this place actually has sandwiches with fun names. They also have take-and-bake pizza if you're looking for a quick meal. This is close to the house and easy to bring back if you want to lounge and eat.

If you're looking for some delicious food from Nepal, Tibet, and in northern India, check out Himalayan. You can dine in, but this also makes for great takeout. They'll deliver to the house for orders with a $40 minimum and their mango lassi is delicious. This spot is also really vegetarian & vegan friendly!

For a classic dine-in restaurant experience with a menu that includes loaded tater tots, look no further than Oakside. At the risk of mentioning potatoes too many times in one paragraph, I'll tell you the truffle fries are also delightful.

This is a great brunch spot right in the village with indoor or outdoor seating. Expect to wait for your table, but also expect a robust omelette list and delicious biscuits and gravy.

Grizzly Manor is a Big Bear classic. You may have to wait in line but the portions are huge and the food comes out quick. The service is so friendly, you’ll feel right at home.
