Sightseeing

Absolutely one of our favourites. Beamish Museum is only a 15 min drive from the property. An outdoor museum that is fabulous for adults and children. Dogs are welcome. The chips from Davys chip shop at the museum are amazing, however there are usually queues. The town area is famous for the sweet shop and bakery. You must pre book online for your tickets and arrival time slot. Once in you can stay as long as you want.

Metrocentre

Fantastic shopping right in the centre of Newcastle. You could walk from the house which takes around 30-40mins and takes you straight across the Tyne Bridge. It’s an easy, straight forward walk. Or get the number 21 bus from the bus stop outside of the takeaways (turn left out of house, walk a few minutes and cross over the road). Get the 21 bus (make sure it’s not the X21) from numerous bus stops in town and get to get off at Northbourne Street stop. This is just a couple of yards from the house. Why not walk into town and get the bus back. There is a bus timetable available at the house. Or walk into Gateshead Interchange and get the metro to town and get off at Monument station.

Cinema

A fantastic cinema. Only £5 per person for any day and any screening. Book online for ease. Approximately 15 mins easy walk to from the house. Or if driving there, then park in the Tesco carpark and the Vue is right outside of where the escalators brings you out. Don’t forget to pick up a park voucher code from the basket at the Vue or ask an assistant. Use this code at the parking ticket machine on your way out to receive free parking. If going on a Tuesday or Wednesday then use a Meerkat code to book 2 for 1 tickets. If you don’t have a code then let me know and I can try send you one. Stop in at Tesco’s on your way back to the car to pick up some food shopping.
