Nice coffee shop with outdoor seating. They recently put up space heaters for the cold season and are taking social distancing protocols very seriously.

It might not look like much from the outside, but this place has excellent Pho and will warm you up on a cold say after some sightseeing.

This quaint little restaurant is always packed - so make sure you make a reservation ahead of time. The tapas style dishes are Mediterranean and Middle East fusion and in the summer there is a beautiful back patio.

This was the place that policy people used to come to discuss their affairs over drinks and cigars. Today, this place has maintained the same feel, and added some great oysters and traditional American dishes.

A local favorite - very authentic Thai food in a cool, hipster location. But be warned: They don't do reservations and the lines to get in are looong.

The 14th and U St Corridor extends from the 14th and U intersection all the way to where 14th St hits Logan Circle. There are a lot of bars and restaurants with outdoor seating and outside of the pandemic there are a number of music halls, art galleries etc.

Just 7-10min. by foot away from the apartment is the 18th St corridor, with great restaurants from Korean, Japanese, Italian, Ethiopian, Spanish, Mexican - you name it, you will find it. There are also some small shops and coffee spots that invite for a stroll during the day.

This memorial is often overlooked, but it offers a beautiful view across the basin. My tip: pack a picnic and rent some bikes and enjoy the views!

Bishop's Garden is located right by the National Cathedral. In the summer, you can take a walk through the small Arboretum and herb garden. It makes for a great picnic place as well!

This park is great to hang out. Quite literally. In the summer, many people will come with their hammocks and set them up between the trees. There is also a vibrant drum circle that practices here on Saturdays. From the top of the park you have a beautiful view across DC down 16th St all the way to the White House.

This is a medium sized music venue and a great location to catch a great concert. Have a bite to eat before at Thai Crossing a block away (but be warned: they don't do reservations and the lines are loooong).
