Sightseeing

Visit the city of St. George's to witness the local life. There are some parts of the city that are quite hilly so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and have water on hand. If you shop from the local vendors, most may take cash. Foreign currency accepted. Always best to walk with local cash especially smaller denominations. Vendors are there during the week selling their goods, but the best day to go is on a Saturday where they all come out with the fresh produce.

Traveler advice

Getting around

Always carry cash especially small denominations

Grenada still operate with cash. Even though more places are utilising point of sale machines, ALWAYS assume you need cash. US currency is widely accepted. The official rate is US $1 -EC $2.7, but for daily business the exchange rate received can vary from EC $2.6-$2.67 .
Getting around

Local buses

If using public transport for duration of your stay, the route #1 bus traverse the Grand Anse to Town of St George route. To get to other destinations beyond Grand Anse, just speak to the bus driver or conductor early on. For destinations beyond the Town of St. George, once you have reached the bus terminal, you could get another bus that is assigned to operate different routes. Usually a bus terminal guide is there to offer assistance.
