Wonderful byway on the Blue Ridge Parkway with a seasonally-open restaurant (one of the few on the actual parkway) with excellent food. The lunch buffet is delicious and affordable.

Unique hiking opportunity off of Petites Gap Rd not far from the lodge. Moderate difficulty and personally check it out prior to bringing small children.

Premier hiking trail in the United States, running from Maine to Georgia. While the trail is less than three miles from our lodge, it is difficult to access through our location in the National Forest. It is easier to drive and park to an access point and then hike as far and as long as you like. The most convenient point is Apple Orchard on the Blue Ridge Parkway. You can also check out the local AT club website for more information. https://www.nbatc.org/nbatcMapNew.html
