Music and dancing

An awesome outdoor venue for music and dancing. Purchase food and drinks at the venue and enjoy a picnic while you listen to your favorite bands.
Outstanding music venue! (If you're a dancer, beware that the floor is concrete and sloped, but the music and crowd will be so wonderful, you won't mind it so much!)

Arts and Cultural Events

If open air marketplaces intrigue you, you will adore the Eugene Saturday Market - it is the oldest weekly outdoor market in the U.S. Every Saturday from the first weekend in April until mid-November, 10:00-5:00, rain or shine, artists, musicians, food vendors, buskers, locals and visitors gather on the park blocks at 8th & Oak to share in one of the most wonderful experiences Eugene has to offer. I have been a member of the market since 1978, and you can usually find me in my booth on the farthest east side selling my watercolor artwork - which you will also find displayed on the walls of your room.

Neighborhoods

This is my neighborhood, and I think it is the best in town! On sunny days and even in the rain, you will see people walking their dogs, biking, and out for a stroll with their families and friends. It features a small park with a children's playground, several food kiosks and the Friendly Street Market which has become the gathering place for this neighborhood. Take a stroll down Monroe Alley from here to 19th and you will discover some of the most beautifully creative gardens in town. On your way, enjoy the wide open serenity of Madison Meadow on 22nd & Madison.
