Sandringham village is famous for its excellent Indian eateries, but Satya Spice and Chai Shop stands out from the more traditional fare. Hidden down an alley lit by fairy lights, and instantly transports you to somewhere far less suburban. Sitting on cushioned beer crates under a hessian ceiling, you can order from an impressive collection of craft beers, alongside cocktails, hookah and, of course, their seriously impressive chai. The food is shared style plates of spicy deliciousness!

Absolute local fav for hot and spicy Indian food! It’s always thriving so book ahead. People are obsessed with Paradise. Like, queue for ages on a cold winter’s night obsessed. Seven hundred kilos of lamb and a tonne of chicken a week obsessed. 100 staff over just three locations obsessed. The only reason Paradise can keep opening these increasingly monstrous premises (they’re not done either – expansion of the restaurant is also well underway), all on the same city block, is that people are obsessed with Paradise. Like, queue for ages on a cold winter’s night obsessed. Seven hundred kilos of lamb and a tonne of chicken a week obsessed. 100 staff over just three locations obsessed. All over “good, authentic food at a reasonable price”. The expansion has been fueled by an extremely well-executed expression of Mughlai cuisine – including their signature biryani – along with curries and Indo-Chinese dishes, all a riot of colour and flavour.

Great brunch spot with relaxed atmosphere and morning sunshine! It's hidden away in an odd small restaurant area behind St Lukes Mall. It's much better than it looks from the roadside FYI! https://www.tripadvisor.co.nz/Restaurant_Review-g255106-d9767723-Reviews-Geeks_On_Sainsbury-Auckland_Central_North_Island.html
