Parks & Nature

Drive amongst wild Bontebok, Zebra and Hartebeest in a Nature park where you MAY leave your car to take photographs or go for walks. Good for picnics on the banks of the Breede River. Very tranquil. Bontebok where almost exterminated by hunters in the 19th century, because they are such easy targets colourwise. A group of farmers started protecting the last 40 Bontebok on their farms, and were the precursors of the establishment of this park, unique to the world. Bontebok were saved from extinction, and are readily seen all over the western cape game farms, thanks to the breeding programme in Bontebok Park.
